@@dark-matters Thank you. I did manage to get it off in the end. But failed to lift out the fuse box. I couldn't seem to free it from the bottom right corner as looking at it from above. Any tips for that? Thank you for sharing your wisdom 😁

@@rachelcouzens2958 check to see if the screw is fully screwed up. A good tug then should help

This is a temporary fix. I found when the cold weather or car got wet the issue came back after a fews days. If you read some of my reply to comments you will find something to help. At the end of the day it's an ecu issue. I sold my car as it would cost a fortune to replace the ecu. For some reason removing the fuse box does something to the ecu

@@dark-matters Hi. Thank you for replying so quickly. Interesting you say your issue returned when cold or wet. Mine is only doing it on first start up in the morning. Once engine is hot it cranks and starts without issue. I will clean the fuse box contacts and the ecu plugs anyway. If it is the ecu, a plug and play one is £200 off ebay.

@@Nick-bp7jf I would be a bit hesitate on ebay parts. Best to buy genuine if you can. Did you ever replace you windscreen? I found after mine was replaced there started the issue with water getting into the fuse box.

@@dark-matters Hi. Never had windscreen replaced during my ownership of maybe 6 years. I hear what you say about ebay. The guy takes your old ecu and transfers the data to a working ecu so it will work when fitted. Fwiw he has 100% feedback. Not even sure if new ones are available. Do not know anyone with the VX software to programme one.

Hello have you tried following what I did on this video? I know it's a short term fix. If there is water getting in the fuse box in the engine department seal the box edges closed with clear silicone after you follow the video, this also worked for me for a good while. Also if the car ever had the windscreen replaced there lies the fault where the water is getting in but you are best getting the fuse box looked at and if needed get ecu replaced as the fault

It also means other ecu issues

What make of car?

Could be the fuse box in the engine compartment if it's a zafria. Water may have got in, there only needs to be a small amount. I had the same issue as my video 4 weeks ago and had to take fuse box out and set in in hotpress overnight to dry out. Car has worked since.

Have you read all comments on this page. There is a few things that could be wrong. Water in fuse box is common

If you read over the rest of the comments you will see that there is no definite fix for this issue. I had it again the other day. Car was fine the next day. 99% it's the on board computer {the brain} that is causing this issue. I've got to say I'll never buy a vauxhall ever again. They are so un reliable. I've had 4 and all brain issues. My best bet is sell the dam thing.

Leave the car for a day with battery disconnected. This is what I did the other day. The next day reconnect the battery leave for 5 min and try then. Iff issue still there check to see if any water has got into the fuse box as in my video?. Failing that the fault will go away its self trust me. Oh, do you have abs lights on the dash?

@@dark-matters I will try that again, its such a shame that this happens as the zafira is actually a nice family car... wish they took more time developing it instead of rushing it out, the only thing I worry about is leaving it for a long period of time for example im out shopping and come back to it and it F'd again and im in a car park, yea i believe i have abs on the dash, I will check and clean the fuse box regardless and get back to you later if thats ok? anymore advice on what you have done over time to keep it running would help alot, thanks for your help, appreciate it.

@@dark-matters I checked it with and without the bridge. What I´ve got is: With Relais: - Handbrake - ESP - Battery - Service - Error F - Tankful display is loading and going back to 0 after a while With Bridge - Oil - Handbrake - Battery - Service - Motor check

It seems to be contact issue on the points between the fuse box and the unit. Water corrosion

If you hear a whirring sound after it happens, it could be the clutch switch actuator in the Easytronic system. Can send them off for fix, about £130. Mine started like yours, but eventually got worse and beached me on xmas eve. Worth doing now.

@@mehrozehassan882 this happened again to me about 4 weeks ago. So I did what I did in my video and this solved the issue. About 1 week later the car started chugging losing power. I was able to pinpoint another issue. The abs sensor was playing up { common in vauxhalls} and this is related to the fusebox issue I had. Then the stock controls played up. The volume up changed the radio and the horn controlled the volume down.. I believed it had something to do with the cold weather. So I left the car in a lockup for a few days wt room temperature. After which all issues were gone. A few days later after driving in almost frosty weather the issues came back again. I have to put these issues down to vauxhalls not doing well in frosty or very cold conditions. I have had vauxhalls for the past 15 years and each one displayed some kind of electrical fault in cold weather. One of the cars cruze control failed so I changed the cruze control switch, still not solved. It was only when the weather got warmer it started to work again.

@@dark-matters I have an Opel Astra H and have had the issue of the horn increasing the volume, and the volume up button decreasing the volume for a year now. Sometimes the horn will work sometimes not. i wasn't so bothered by it but now lately it's been cold it started to show the F and won't start. Sometimes it will. We had it diagnosed and one of the codes were also something about the ABS. What do you suggest me to do? I will try this cleaning tomorrow. Also any new developments on yours ?

It could be a sim module issue. This is common
